Privacy

How Mingby handles your data. Last updated 10 September 2026.

Controller: Mingby. Contact: the email on your account page, or the address you used to sign in.

What we store

• Account: email, sign-in identifiers (Amazon Cognito).
• Your work: pages you drop, flagged words, decks, archive.
• Usage: how many originals you write in a billing period.
• Payments: Stripe customer and subscription ids if you subscribe. We do not store full card numbers.

What we send to others

• Amazon Web Services (US) hosts the app, files, and sign-in.
• xAI writes the Chinese original and HSK versions from the URL or text you submit.
• Microsoft Edge neural voices produce sentence audio.
• Stripe processes payment if you buy a plan.
• Google or LinkedIn if you choose those sign-in buttons.

Why (GDPR)

We process this to perform the contract (your account and the stories you ask us to write), to bill you, and to keep the service secure. You can withdraw by deleting the account. You may object, access, correct, export, or erase your data. You may complain to your EU/UK supervisory authority.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential local storage for your session, decks, and pages on this device. We do not use advertising cookies.

Retention and transfers

We keep account data while the account exists, then delete it when you use Delete account. Hosts may be outside your country (including the US). Stripe and AWS publish their own terms for those transfers.

Children

Mingby is for adults. Do not create an account if you are under 16.
